EXPERIENCE

With over 20 years of teaching Traditional Wushu (Tanglang Quan Kung Fu), Sanda Kickboxing, No Gi Jujitsu Wrestling and Weapon fighting in the Tucson area, our instructors have made Boxer's Rebellion Martial Arts (BRMA) Tucson's premier choice for those looking to learn highly effective traditional martial arts and self-defense.

We offer a modern, without borders approach to training that focuses on 3 simple and direct principles:

 

  1. We start everyone off learning the fundamentals of movement, sparring survival, stopping an opponent's progression and attacks, and most importantly... learning to train safely.
     

  2. It shouldn't matter if you are kickboxing, close quarter wrestling or weapon fighting, your basics should always apply.
     

  3. All training is functional and based on proven theory, including classical training forms.

TRADITIONAL WUSHU

Why settle for Traditional vs. modern self-defense training? Tanglang Quan (Mantis Boxing Kung Fu) incorporates highly agile footwork, combined with striking, kicking and limb trapping before ultimately finishing with a wrestling throw or submission (Chin Na). 

SANDA & JUJITSU 

As today’s modern fighting competitions have shown us, some form of grappling or wrestling is a must! Our program teaches no gi jujitsu wrestling that focuses on controlling one's opponent with throwing, joint locks, grab counters, constrictions and ground fighting, as taught in wrestling, Jujitsu, Shuai Jiao, and Chin Na.

WEAPON FIGHTING

We draw from both Historical European Weapon Fighting and Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Weapon Fighting to train students in the use of traditional weapons as instruments of fighting, modern self-defense and sport fencing. Class focuses on Jian (straight sword), Dao (single edged saber), Qiang (Spear), Gùn (Staff) and short stick.
